Constellations partners with Singapore Boys’ Hostel (SBHL) to empower residents through music and meaningful engagement. We believe in using music as a tool for expression, connection, and personal growth. We want to equip the boys with basic musical skills and create a safe space for self-expression and meaningful conversation.

We’ve been treasured seeing how music helps us connect with youths, and as PDs we see CE as showing up with authenticity. We look forward to growing together in this community, and hope to make a meaningful, encouraging impact on the youth we journey with.

Pre-engagements
Our pre-engagements revolved around introducing the engagers to the programmes provided by the Singapore Boys’ Hostel, allowing us to gain a better understanding of the youths we would be interacting with. Reflections, goal-setting and simulated guitar teaching scenarios helped us to be better equipped with both technical and soft skills to engage the youths.
Engagement & Impact
During engagement sessions, CAPTains connect with youths at Singapore Boys’ Hostel through trying out the guitar together. We start with songs the boys listen to often and engage in a relaxing yet fulfilling learning experience while bridging friendships. While many may not be proficient at guitar playing in the beginning, what matters is growing together and supporting one another to overcome difficulties to hopefully discover a new passion.
CAPTains gain perspectives on the community of youths facing adversity. Through learning together, new friendships may also be formed.
