Kindle+
Kindle+ is a mentorship programme where CAPTains engage with foster youths aged 13-16. Through weekly value-based engagements, Kindle+ hopes to empower both the mentors and mentees to embark on a journey of growth and self-discovery.

Directors' Message
Through Kindle + we truly understood what it means that circumstances do not define a person. Interacting with the foster youths allowed us to see , that despite everything they have gone through, they still carry so much hope and potential. Their strength and cheerfulness never fails to inspire us even till today.
To us, community engagement doesn’t just mean helping out another community. CE is to recognise and spend time getting to know them. Their sorrows, their joys, our differences, and our similarities. Although Kindle+ may be a mentorship programme for foster youths to learn from our fellow CAPTains, it is also important for us to be able to learn from them as well. CE is about getting to know a community, not by their labels, but by their people. To learn and grow with each other as we go on our different journeys through life.
We are looking forward to seeing both our foster youths, as well as our CAPTains grow through Kindle+ while having lots of fun along the way!
We hope that through our time in Kindle + we can share our life lessons with the youths, inspiring them to chase their passions despite challenges that they face, and to remind them that they’re never alone as there will always be someone cheering them on. We also hope to be able to do our best in striking the balance between fun and meaningful engagement sessions for both our youths and our CAPTains.

Pre-engagements
In Kindle+, our pre-engagements includes workshops and talks that prepares CAPTains with the relevant skills and knowledge to interact with foster youths. This year we invited various speakers, ranging from MSF, social workers to foster parents, to expose CAPTains with various perspectives from the foster system.
Engagement & Impact
In Kindle+, we run value-based sessions – such as resilience, teamwork, self-awareness, and communication – using hands-on activities that help the youths internalise these values in a fun and engaging way.CAPTains will have the opportunity to grow alongside the youths, where they will learn to communicate more effectively, plan meaningful activities, and adapt to different personalities and needs. Ultimately, Kindle+ creates a supportive nurturing space for not just the youths but also CAPTains.
