Director's Message

Welcome to our Town! At CAPTSLAM Townsquare, our aim is to empower our participants to be self-motivated in their personal growth and become student leaders who anchor themselves to their core values. Through values-based mentoring and utilising the MICEE framework, we believe that the interactions between our CAPTains and mentees from New Town Secondary School can facilitate meaningful conversations and establish a long-lasting bond with our mentees even beyond the programme itself!

For our CAPTSLAMMERS, learning and experiencing what mentoring is can enrich our understanding of the youth scene in Singapore, and allow us to empathise with the youths of today. At CAPTSLAM Townsquare, you can have the opportunity to meet with like-minded individuals, have fun, and equip yourself with valuable skills to empathise and communicate with the various communities around us!

Weekly Sessions
Our weekly sessions are value-based, themed after the focus of each iteration and modelling after the MICEE Leadership Framework The weekly sessions are planned by our mentors, who have full autonomy in deciding how they would like to engage the mentees. We believe that this approach provides a great opportunity for our mentors to hone their planning skills and take ownership of the programme.
CampSLAM
This year, CAPTSLAM Townsquare held a 2 Day 1 Night camp at New Town Secondary School, filled with bonding activities and a recap of the values taught through the program. The activities were planned so that the mentees could apply what they have learnt throughout the Semester and forge good memories with their peers.
Chiang Mai Trip
During the Winter break, our mentors flew to Chiang Mai for an 8 Day 7 Night Overseas Learning Trip. We learnt a lot about Chiang Mai’s culture, environment and experienced the warmth of the people when we visited places like the Doi Inthanon National Park, Mon Jam Flower Field,Chiang Mai University and Baan Kang Wat Artist Village! Undoubtedly, the highlight of the trip was spending three days at Ban Pa Mueat School, where we conducted activities with the Thai students!
